Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Spelling Bee Practice ("the app") is a free study tool for students preparing for spelling bees. It is designed for children and their families, so we collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no forms. It does not ask for a name, email, age, or location. Practice results are shown on screen for the current session only and are not sent anywhere.

Microphone and speech

If you tap the microphone button, your browser's built-in speech recognition converts your voice to text so the app can check your spelling. The app itself never records, stores, or transmits audio. Your browser may send audio to its speech provider (for example, Google for Chrome) under that browser's own privacy policy. You can use the app fully by typing instead.

Third-party services

Cookies and local storage

The app stores a copy of itself on your device (a "service worker cache") so it works offline. It does not set tracking cookies of its own.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

The app is directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because no personal information is collected, there is nothing for a parent to review or delete. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
